JOB responsibilities
- Payroll responsibilities:
- Run and manage client payroll
- Lead implementation to preferred DI payroll platform for all DI clients who agree to migrate
- Conduct client annual 401k census
- Perform client workers compensation audit
- Stay on top of payroll law changes, compliance requirements, interpret and ensure DI payroll clients remain compliant (where DI is scoped to manage payroll)
- Accounting responsibilities:
- Serve as internal accountant for multiple client businesses, $1-$30 million in revenue
- Perform accounting services exclusively according to Driven Insights delivery process
- Accounting/bookkeeping tasks, such as:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Payroll journal entries
- Reconciliations
- Month end close, report generation
- Help onboard new clients, deploy new technology and overhaul and standardize new accounting process
- Support client CPA for yearend closing and tax filing
- Assist in documenting and refining delivery process as improvement opportunities are identified
- Train employees on our delivery process
- As appropriate, coordinates with payroll-related software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.

required skill and abilities
- Passion for (and track record of) using financial information to generate useful management insights
- Passion for using math skills in a financial setting
- Incredible attention to detail and “built-in” sense of urgency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is required, Xero, Intacct & NetSuite are a plus to have
education and experience
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
- 3+ years of experience as accountant or full charge bookkeeper required
- 3+ years of experience managing payroll and related accounting entries, plus the underlying technology required
- 2+ years of audit work for CPA firm preferred
